Spread the love

Want to be the most popular person at your next gathering?! Even if you’re stuck at home and you’re having a party with yourself and a few glasses (read bottles🍷) of wine, this baked brie is the perfect party dish. It’s super easy to make and is a real crowd pleaser! It also looks very impressive when it’s done…your friends will think it took you hours to make! Who’s a gourmet chef now?!? 👩‍🍳🧀👨‍🍳

Brie en Croute

1 package Puff Pastry Sheets
1/2 cup Peach Jam
1 wheel Brie
1 each Egg

1. The first thing you need to do is choose the jam that you’re going to use. I used my favorite homemade peach jam. If you want to make your own, click here for the recipe. Follow steps 1-3, and then jump back over to this page! If you don’t want o make it yourself, you can use jam or preserves from the store.

2. Now, preheat your oven to 375℉. Take one sheet of your puff pastry dough out of the freezer and let it thaw for about 10-15 minutes. Once it’s thawed, lay it out flat on very lightly floured surface. You can roll it a couple times with a rolling pin just to smooth it out a bit.

3. Place the wheel of brie right in the middle of the sheet of puff pastry. I left the rind on, but if you prefer, you can cut it off first. It’s delicious either way.

4. Spoon your jam on top of the wheel of brie and smooth it out a bit on top.

5. Take your egg and mix it up with a tiny splash of water, and get your pastry brush ready.

6. Fold one corner of your puff pastry over the brie. Egg wash the top of the dough. Do this to each of the 4 corners until they all meet and overlap over the top of the brie.

7. Gently press together the dough that gathered on top of the brie, and then gently pres down around the edges of the brie. You will have 4 corners of dough sticking out still.

8. Now, egg wash the top of the dough again, and gently stretch the remaining corners to the center of your brie, making sure they overlap on top. Keep using the egg wash as a glue to hold them in place. If you’re worried the top won’t stay, secure it with a toothpick.

9. Now you should have a tight seal around your brie. Transfer the brie to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Before we bake this, we just need to egg wash the whole thing. Gently brush the egg wash over all of the exposed dough. This will give it a nice color and a little shine after it bakes.

10. Put your brie en croute in the 375℉ oven for about 30 minutes. I like to turn my oven up to 400℉ for the last 10 minutes to make sure the puff pastry gets a nice color to it.

11. Remove your masterpiece from the oven and serve while warm! Enjoy!
